Verizon Wireless has officially detailed the latest software update for the LG Revolution smartphone. And yes, this is the one that many have probably been waiting for — Gingerbread.

Less than 24 hours ago we told you that Verizon confirmed via its own website that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the next Google Nexus handset, which will be launched in November, was going to be available exclusively from the carrier in the near future.

It’s no secret that Motorola will launch two new tablets soon, the Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media Edition. The two models have been spotted in previous leaks, which means a proper announcement is probably due at some point in the very near future.

Verizon has just posted an official Galaxy Nexus sign-up on its website, but the carrier isn’t specifying any details regarding the launch of Samsung’s next flagship device.

The initial Gingerbread update for Verizon’s first LTE handset, the HTC Thunderbolt, wasn’t successful, so the carrier decided to launch a second version almost a month after the previous one.

Coming about eight months after the initial release and about one month after Verizon and Motorola began taking in those previously sold units and upgrading the hardware to support the 4G LTE network — you can now purchase a 4G LTE capable Motorola Xoom from Verizon.

Verizon Wireless has come forward with some information that we suspect more than a few people have been waiting for — the release date and the pricing for the recently announced Motorola Droid RAZR. In late September Verizon has pulled the HTC Thunderbolt Gingerbread update, a software version its subscribers have been waiting since the first half of the year, when it was initially expected to roll out.

Verizon began rolling out their 4G LTE network less than one year ago, and when things first began, the goal was to have coverage available for 185 million users before the end of 2011. And well, it looks like Verizon is currently ahead of schedule.
